A student teenage girl informed through her parent she heard another student say he was going to shoot up the school on this Thursday at Valentine’s Day, exactly one year after 17 people were hit at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. The girl could not see the student’s face, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

The next day, the director at Pioneer Middle School told deputies he received a mail from a teacher who announced a group of students got calls about a possible threat of violence to the center.

Officials are planning to have extra law enforcement on the campus of the South Florida middle school.
